Description
The Bendega Villas are a gorgeous villa complex set amidst the spectacular rice paddy terraced fields of Canggu. The properties are located only few minutes walk from the Nelayan beach and from two of the most famous surf breaks in South East Asia, Batu Bolong and Echo Beach. This part of the coast is characterised by black volcanic sand and might not always be ideal for swimming, however, this is the best place to surf, walk or simply admire the renowned Balinese sunsets from one of the numerous amazing beach clubs or bars in the area, places such as The Lawn, Old Mans and Finns Beach Club are simply fantastic.
The villas are also conveniently located few minutes away from a great choice of restaurants, local warungs, cafés and spas.
The complex is made of two stunning pool villas, the 5 bedroom Bendega Nui and the 4 bedroom Bendega Rato, plus a lovely self-contained private suite with plunge pool, set between the two properties.
Villa Bendega Nui
The gorgeous outdoor spaces of the villa will be ensure you will have the most peaceful and relaxing time. The extensive tropical gardens laid out in a series of courtyards with koi ponds, manicured lawns, frangipani, oil palms and gorgeous tulip trees, the ideal spaces for kids to run around and for adults to spend unforgettable moments while admiring the beautiful rice fields that surround the property.
At the center of the garden is a gorgeous s tone-lined infinity pool with wide shallow end and sun deck furnished with loungers. Next to it guests will enjoy the breezy open-sided pool pavilion furnished with a large daybed, a round dining table for 10, comfortable bean bags, a kitchenette and a guest changing room. A relaxation balè (traditional Balinese gazebo) is perched over a koi pond on one end of the garden, and features a comfortable daybed and floor cushions.
This gorgeous villa has been designed with the consultation of acclaimed international architect Glenn Parker and boasts modern and traditional elements of Balinese architecture blending harmoniously together. Some of the best natural material have been used to build the property, and the interiors are characterised by stunning antiques, furnishings and textiles.
The main living area is an o pen-fronted space with a pair of black teak sofas facing the garden and the rice fields. Next to this living area is the air-conditioned dining room fitted with a gorgeous Merbau-wood dining table seating up to 20. Adjoining this room we find beautiful modern kitchen superbly equipped with a Jura Impressa coffee machine, two fridges, an extra large oven, an ice cream maker and a wood-fired pizza oven. This will be the reign of the villa chef, who will prepare amazing dishes for all the guests.
The a ir-conditioned media room, featuring 50” plasma TV, DVD player, book and DVD library, and the adjoining games room with billiard table and selection of board games, will surely make the guests holiday even funnier.
The property also features a Sonos digital music system, set both indoors and outdoors, which can be controlled remotely from anywhere in the villa.
All five air-conditioned bedrooms at Villa Bendega Nui are gorgeous and come with luxurious ensuite bathrooms and French doors leading to large balconies or private garden areas. There are three master suites, one located in its own stand-alone pavilion at the front of the garden, and two part of the two-storey main pavilion. All three feature luxury four-poster king size beds draped in mosquito netting, iPod docks and huge bathrooms with sunken double bathtubs, double basins and walk-in rain showers. Adjoining one master bedroom in the main pavilion is a study equipped with computer and printer.
The two remaining bedrooms (located in the main pavilion, one upstairs and one on the ground floor) are fitted with twin beds and can be converted into king-bedded rooms upon request. The one upstairs boasts a rice-field-view balcony, a 37” TV, iPod dock and an ensuite bathroom with spacious walk-in shower; while the one on the ground floor has a sitting area, garden view and a huge river-rock bathtub ‘floating’ at the centre of a fishpond in the room’s generous ensuite bathroom.
Villa Bendega Rato
Guests at Villa Bendega Rato will surely enjoy the beautiful tropical garden and the large swimming pool, ideal places to relax and refresh after a “long” day spent exploring this gorgeous island. The l arge pavilion located just next to the pool will also be a guest favorite, with its daybed, antique bar and alfresco dining table for 10. On the huge upper level of the villa there’s also a lovely sunset rooftop terrace, fitted with open balè and large daybed.
Villa Bendega Rato offers an amount of living spaces that is surprising, compared to most of the three bedroom villas of the area. The double-storey living area has been designed to provide the most comfortable space for guests to relax in. This gorgeously furnished room opens to the garden and features a comfortable lounge corner with stylish sofas, a formal dining area with table for 12 and a fully equipped modern kitchen with staff service area and a wood-burning brick oven for amazing gourmet pizzas! Attached to this space is also a beautiful and air-conditioned media room, fitted with 55” TV, Apple TV, DVD player and Sonos sound system.
The villa offers four gorgeous and air-conditioned bedrooms, two located on the upper floor of the villa and one, the Garden Suite, positioned in front of the pool. The two bedrooms upstairs are called respectively Sea and Sky, and both boast four-poster king size beds, private terraces with daybed and large ensuite bathrooms with rain showers and oversized tubs overlooking the rice fields. The beautiful Garden Suite features instead a four-poster king size bed, a daybed, spacious walk-in wardrobe and a private lounge area with 43” TV, computer and an antique daybed. The beautiful air-conditioned private bathroom boasts a large rain shower and an alfresco river rock bathtub set within a walled garden.
The villa also offer a delightful master suite, self-contained and connected to both properties. This room features a four-poster bed, iPod dock, TV with DVD player, minibar, a gorgeous garden bathroom with shower and large stone bathtub for two and a private 21 m² plunge pool with sundeck and poolside bale.
Staff
The exceptional staff of the complex will help you arrange all kind of services and assist in any request you might have. The team of 17 includes a manager, talented chefs, 24-hour butlers, gardener, pool attendant and 24-hour security guards.

What an absolutely wonderful stay here at the Bendega Villas with my family for my Aunty’s Birthday. The moment you walk in you feel like royalty knowing that this place is yours for the next few days to enjoy. The grounds are lovely and so well kept. The staff are everything that makes the villa, no job is too hard for them and they are helpful, caring and so friendly. Words just can’t express the beauty of this Villa it has to be seen to be believed but it’s well worth the stay and experience! Thank you to the wonderful staff at Bendega Villas for making our stay perfect!

5/5Highly recommend! These luxury Canggu villas are beautiful and well-maintained. They're in a great location amidst rice fields nearby The Practice yoga studio, and just a 10-minute walk or 3-minute drive to Batu Bolong beach. Facilities at Bendega Nui include a private pool, media room and billiard table. It is not the most kid-friendly choice as there are koi ponds and stairs, but one very redeeming element for young kids is the wide shallow ledge in the swimming pool. Last but not least, thank you so much to all the gracious staff for looking after me and my family.
