Nag Shampa Estate is an exclusive tropical sanctuary curated and owned by Sam and Isabella Branson, located in the peaceful Taro village near Ubud. Its name translates to incense of love in Sanskrit, and the estate beautifully combines modern design with traditional Javanese architecture to create an atmosphere of elegant authenticity. Set on a one hectare site surrounded by lush jungle, this expansive property is a living feast for the senses, making it the ultimate retreat for large families or groups of friends. The villa offers a total surface area of 1,850 sqm across eight distinct pavilions.

Outdoor living areas

The outdoor grounds are a wellness haven featuring five inviting swimming pools, including two main pools and three private plunge pools. Guests can explore the organic orchard and vegetable patch, or find serenity in the yoga shala and various meditation spots throughout the lush gardens.

The estate is equipped with lounge chairs, pool umbrellas, and sun beds, providing ample space for relaxation under the sun. Additional outdoor features include a BBQ area and balconies with hammocks at the Kubu pool villas, perfect for savoring the quiet natural atmosphere.

Indoor living areas

The property's indoor living spaces are spread across impressive Joglo style buildings, featuring a lofty living area and a large dining pavilion. The main communal space includes an air conditioned room for relaxation and a fully equipped kitchen located conveniently next to the dining area.

For indoor entertainment, the villa provides high speed WiFi, a 43 inch Smart TV with Netflix, and JBL Bluetooth speakers, as well as a selection of books and board games. The dining area features a grand rectangular table that comfortably seats 16 guests for communal meals.

Bedrooms

Nag Shampa Estate can host up to 16 guests in eight ensuite bedrooms, each thoughtfully designed for comfort and privacy. The Istana Suite serves as the master bedroom and features a king size bed, a private pool, and a double vanity ensuite with a bathtub.

The remaining accommodation consists of four Joglo bedrooms and three Kubu pool villas, all of which are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, and blackout curtains. Every bedroom includes its own ensuite bathroom with a bathtub and double vanity, ensuring a luxurious experience for every guest.

Staff

The estate is fully staffed by a professional team that includes a villa manager, three in house cooks, villa attendants, security, and a driver. Rate inclusions feature daily breakfast and car hire for eight consecutive hours a day, though petrol is excluded.

The experienced culinary team prepares healthy, homestyle meals using fresh produce from the estate's own gardens. Guests can also request on site spa treatments at the dedicated massage studio or arrange for additional services such as babysitting and yoga lessons for an extra charge.
